Forensic Science

There are stories whose start begins by its end…”  This is the convincing argument used to start “Forensic science” the new docudrama series produced by TVE that reconstructs and tells in a thriller mode, different shocking and mysterious cases of the Spanish forensic crime scene.

 

Ep. 1 THE KILLER OF THE CIRCLE – PROFILE AND ANALYSIS OF THE CRIMINAL BEHAVIOUR

 

 

Castellón in the 90s.  A girl gets missing during the late hours and some months later her body is found by a hunter.  Next to this happenning, three other bodies of women, in an advance state of decomposition are found too.

 

The three of them were prostitutes working in the roads of the region.  With no clues about the killings, the research gets even more complicated when a new girl gets missing and the panic spreads in the area.  How many killers are at large?  The Canter cyrcle theory will be crucial to clear up those crimes.

Ep. 2 THE PUNXET KILLER – RECOGNITION AND FORENSIC IDENTIFICATION

 

 

Barcelona, January 2003.  In the garage of a rich neighbourhood appears the corpse of a woman brutally killed.  The killer has taken her purse.

 

At first sight it looks like a robbery with violence.  But 11 days later, in the same garage another women is found dead in similar circumstances.  Was this a killing made by mistake or the killer was looking for something from their victims?

Ep. 3        THE BALLESTEROS CASE – TOXICOLOGY

 

Summer 2003, a plague of cockroaches appears in an appartment in the popular neighbourhood of Real.  The family living there, a married couple with two children, orders the fumigation to end with this repulsive plague.  Soon after, the father of this family starts feeling sick and he ends up dying.  This episode will solve if the insecticide is the real cause of the death or maybe the place hides other terrible harms.  In this investigation several characters will mingle to unveil terrible family secrets, as the presence of a girl seeing her father taking a lemonade one summer afternoon, to a teenager keen on online chats or a butcher who is providing his products to this family from his store.

 

In the Ballesteros case, the events will ead to a tragic end.  As an exceptional witness the journalist Vanesa Benedicto will be persent during the key moments of the investigation.   She will be able to hear the lines of the investigation and to analyse the evidences found for this crime.

 

Ep. 4         THE PERMANYER CASE – FORENSIC CALIGRAPHY

 

What happens when someone goes missing?  Is the afternoon of September 27th 2004 and a middle-aged women is on her way to a building next to her house to solve some rent issues.  But in the lift, this women vanishes… and then her body is found in a forest 50 kms away from her house.

Ep.5            THE CALIG CRIMES – THE DNA

 

In this last episode of Forensic Science we analyse a case that started on a night of June, 2005, when a young couple are found brutally murdered in the house of one of them, in Càlig (Castellon).  She is a Cuban girl who emigrated to Spain years before; he is a friend who walked her to her place because her car was broken down.  Both of them were tied up and with two bullets in their heads.

 

The criminalists are very sure, they have been executed, but why?  With no clues, no motive, the research has only one thread to pull: the ashes from a cigarette found in the frame of a window.
