Juan Genovés

In this documentary we enter in the private space of the Spanish painter Juan Genovés (Valencia, 1930), his workshop in Aravaca (Madrid). We come close to his most recent work, to his vital moment to revisit next to him, the troubled history of Spain and his political and social commitment with the historical moment he has lived.

 

En essential artist with a big international success, who waits up at smalls hours to paint in solitude. At his 80s, he is an example of vitality, discipline and good humor.

 

He has been awarded, among others with the Mention of Honor (XXXIII Bienale di Venezia, 1966), the Golden Medal (VI Viennale Internazionale de San Marino, 1967), the Marzotto Internazionale (1968), the Spanish National Award of Plastic Arts (1984), Plastic Arts Award of the Comunitat Valanciana (2002) or the Golden Medal Merit in Fine Arts of the Spanish Ministry of Culture (2005)
