Kaleidoscope Montalban

The documentary deals with the Spanish journalist and writer Manuel Vázquez Montalbán. He is the literary father of one of the loved character of his detective stories, the Inspector Pepe Carvallo.

 

“Kaleidoscope Montalbán”, directed by Jordi Segú, goes round the Barcelona where the author lived. He showed the city through the eyes of a fictional character, the Inspector Montalbano, created and baptized with this name by Andrea Camillieri, as a tribute to the Spanish novelist. This fictional character will find different relatives, friends and collegues of Montalban as Anna Sallés, Ferran Adrià, Carmen Balcells, Juan Cruz, Josep Ramoneda, Maruja Torres or Rafael Ribó.

 

Those who met him will draw a portrait of an engaged writer, one of the best ambassadors of Barcelona around the world and a figure whose thoughts about life and politics prevails today.
