Africa, in the name of women

En Portada travels around Liberia to show how this African country is governed almost by women.

Some Africanists consider that the future of the continent is on female governments hands.

No other country reflex better this hope that Liberia, where in 2006 Ellen Jonhson-Sirleaf became President and the first female Chief of State of an African country. “Africa, in the name of women” will check the most recent history of Liberia and the role of women through their own personal experiences to analyze the role of women in Africa.

We visit too the actual situation of the country after ebola epidemy. Liberia was one of the three most affected by the virus and where more people deceased. Even today they are in the process of recovering. Our team visited the HQ of Doctors without Borders, the NGO that was and keep right on the spot from the beginning and who treate the survivors of the ebola virus
