Cristina Hoyos, reaching the sky without lifting the shoulders

A portrait of the Spanish dancer Cristina Hoyos and how she has faced success and failure.

An incursion to her daily life and her memories that start with a determination: there are encounters that make an impact in one’s life. Encounters that will transform someone, professionally and emotionally. The first time she heard about Antonio Gades she was not even 18, but she took a decision that will drive her future: to meet Antonio Gades and become part of his ballet.
This determination helped her, years after, to face a critical illness.

Through the documentary we see her daily life in the rehearsal room where she prepares the play of Garcia Lorca, Poema del Cante Hondo en el Café de Chinitas and its opening night in the Maestranza Theatre in Seville. We travel also with her to the opening night of that same play, in the Thália Theatre in Budapest.
