Els Comediants, the sun in the suitcase

Els Comediants, the sun in the suitcase is a journey to the 40 years of history of the theatre company.

The leitmotiv is a tale told by a character disguised at an aviator of the 40s who will shows us some footage, interviews with the actors and some relevant characters of the company’s history. For the development of the tale, some of the theatre techniques run by Els Comediants will be used: puppets, Chinese shadows, performing masks, demons or carnival figures with enormous heads, among others.

Directed by Hector Muniente and Elisenda Dalmau, and written by both with the support of some members of Els Comediants as Joan Font and Jaume Bernadet, the documentary mixes narration with interviews to different relevant personalities of the world of culture as the song-writer Joan Manuel Serrat, the illustrator Mariscal, the publicist Lluís Basat or the former President of the Generalitat de Catalunya and former mayor of Barcelona, Pasqual Maragall.
