I live in Molenbeek

Molenbeek, one of the 19 municipalities in Brussels, and only 15 minutes away from the City Centre, had made the headlines for all types of media.

This was the neighborhood where the authors of the Paris terrorist attacks lived, and it is linked to different Jihadist attacks in Europe.

The neighbors rebel against this image portrayed by the media and show a different face of their community.

Molenbeek is sadly known for its links to the recent terrorist attacks suffered in Europe, among them the one in Paris last November 2015.

More than 100,000 people live in this municipality separated from the center of Brussels by a canal that acts like an imaginary border. Many in Brussels has never visited this place, its population is made mainly of immigrants, most of them from Morocco.

Their neighbors are fed up with this image of being a nest of terrorist given by the media and they want to be known and show the reality of a people who only want to leave in peace.
