A journey to the heart of Honduras, the most violent country in the world.
Our filming crew has been round the streets of the country with the highest number of homicides of the planet and has spoken to the police and “mareros” (gang members)… But this is not a violent story. Our protagonists are civilians who are fighting against impunity and the police forces trying to eradicate corruption.
One year and a half ago, several corrupted policemen stopped a young couple in a roadblock. They tried to steal their car. The couple offered resistance and their dead bodies were found in a ditch. One of them was the son of the most prestigious women of the country, the Chancellor of the University of Honduras, Julieta Castellanos. Her fight, and of many other parents, is transforming Honduras and little by little they are achieving to dignify a police force buried in corruption and a country bleeding by violence.
